Reviewed Chocolate Gooey Butter Cookies
"excellent recipe. i'm a dark chocolate fan myself, and i've found that using a dark chocolate pudding cake mix is great. i've made this many times, and my favorite version so far is adding 1 to 2 teaspoons of instant espresso powder (beat in with the butter and cream cheese), a pinch of extra salt and half a bag of dark chocolate chips for texture"
Reviewed Emeril's Two-Bean Turkey Chili
"exceptional flavor and fairly easy to make, just a lot of chopping. i love that you don't need a slow cooker and the flavor is very robust. my boyfriend loves it, too :
the first time i made this, however, it was a bit watered down even with 4 cups of broth, so this time i'm reducing it to 3 cups.
it might require you to purchase a lot of spice"

"excellent recipe. i used a moist dark chocolate cake mix, but also added about half a teaspoon of salt to balance the sweet out a bit more. they really are like a dense, semi-cooked cake, and they get even better after a day or two in the cookie jar! the flavor is not "punch you in the face", but a little more subtle and not too sweet, which is exactly why i love it. i did cook them for about 13-14 minutes to get a tad more of the goo out, and they were fine.
Reviewed Spinach-Feta Rice Pilaf, Sliced Steak with Oregano Sauce, and Broiled Tomatoes with Parsley
"while this dish took me about an hour to prepare (the first time, fresh from the store so i had to process all veggies and i have a very small kitchen that's tough to work in), the flavors were really great and i would recommend this for any family dinner/get together.
i did have to add more chicken stock to the rice as it was cooking, probably about 1/2 - 3/4C, to get it to not be crunchy, and i added quite a bit of salt/pepper/nutmeg but then i'm used to cooking smaller batches of food; just season to taste, remembering that the feta will add a bit of that salty flavor as well. the steak was very tender and flavorful with the sauce (i hand squeezed an entire small-ish lemon, tasted fine). i might substitute a little fresh oregano on the tomatoes instead of parsley next time.
overall a low stress meal to prepare, and well worth the energy.
