Reviewed Mini Orange Chocolate Chunk Cake

Apr 3, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on

Excellent. I made them in the over sized cupcake pans. The recipe made the perfect 6. I made half of the orange syrup and it was plenty. I poked the tops with a cake tester before brushing the syrup on with my silicone pastry brush. It took all of the 30 minutes to bake them. Ina has the best recipes. I love everything I make of hers. This Daube was to die for! My husband is still talking about it. The macronade was a great accompaniment. I did marinate it for longer than instructed and the meat was so tender. are two for two now. I am making this for company next time. It is sure to be a hit. ""

Delicious! My husband said that it was better than the one we get at the Greek Festival here on Cape Cod every summer. I followed the recipe and made no changes. It is time consuming and if I was to make it for company I would prep it the day before then assemble and bake before the guests arrive. This is going in my recipe file. Thank you Meli...

This is a fabulous salad. I like the idea of the two cabbages and not lettuces because it does not wilt if you have leftovers. The dressing is so delicious. Great summer lunch.""

I could not get the cream to thicken. There needs to be some adjustment to this recipe. I was so excited to make it for Christmas dinner and it flopped. I don't have a clue why it did not thicken. I measured everything perfectly. I will try making the cream again and add more cornstarch and see if this helps. Very disappointed. C'est la vie!""

I am off to a bad start with this recipe. I have added a least an extra cup of flour. Without it, the dough was VERY sticky. I measured everything very carefully. Hopefully it will be easier to work with after it has chilled for a good two hours. Did anyone else have that problem? I bake all the time and decided to try this recipe for a change. N...

Reviewed Pasta Puttanesca

I have been making this dish since I first saw it on Rachel's show years ago. I absolutely love it. I have added some shrimp at the end and cooked until just pink and it is a delicious addition. A staple in my house.

Reviewed Portuguese Chourico and Kale Soup

Jan 15, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on

First off...not nearly enough liquid. It called for a quart of stock and 2 quarts nearly did it. I had to add some water as well. One quart had to be a typo. I used kidney beans. I never put chick peas in my kale soup. The kale is not going to wilt in 5 mins. it takes a long time to soften up. All in all the soup came out good. I hope she will make...
