"These were definitely easy to make, but I did not enjoy the taste of them at all. I generally make cake doughnuts, but I needed something fast and didn't have time to wait for hours chilling dough and then rolling them out. I also didn't think lemon zest with coffee glaze sounded appetizing, so I made a vanilla glaze to keep them light and fresh. Unfortunately, the only part I enjoyed was the vanilla glaze, but I still enjoy Giada and will try more of her recipes in the future... just not doughnuts!

"This recipe was a hit with everyone! It was not an overly sweet chocolate cupcake, so I kept a few unfrosted and paired them with a smooth merlot to share with friends. The kids really loved them, especially the mini version with lots of frosting on top!
