I have made this cake many times. It's the best special occasion cake that I know of. Here's my thing: I don't mix the whip. cream with the custard. I always follow Ina's recipes exactly.I think she is a genius.
These cupcakes are the best -- better than the bakery down the street that charges $4.50 per cupcake! I have made these for a fancy tiered stand for a wedding,
and people were taking pictures of the cupcakes! Good job Ina.
