I used vegetable shortening instead of lard, and they came out perfect. The dough was a little stickier than I thought it should be, but after some kneading and rolling it came out well. Tasted really good!! Way better than store bought. Now if only I could successfully roll them into circles!

I was looking for a basic pot pie recipe that I could work with and make vegetarian. This one worked great. I used mock chicken, vegetable broth, and all vegetable shortening. Everything turned out great! This was my first time to make a dough this way, I was nervous. Yet it turned out great. I added celery, and wish I would have added diced potatoes....
