Amazing.The very best. I roll them thick for a soft chewy cookie. I used European butter and a hint of peppermint oil with lots of vanilla. Our new favorite , Thanks Paula and happiest of holidays to your family .

Fantastic-and I hate fruitcake. I made a few changes like, I used unfiltered spiced apple cider, added pecans,dates,and made Altons recipe for candied ginger, and nutmeg ,used brandy instead of rum, removed currants and allspice-though the cider had a bit as well as all the other spices so I halved them. I am looking forward to making this tomorrow but I am at high altitude-6700 ft. do I need to make any adjustments? I have a terrible time with cakes and cookies and being a chef doesnt help.
