I have made these many times, and Julia Child';s recipe is a gem, and worth every minute of preparation. This is a great recipe with the modifications suggested by Jimmy801 on Oct 26, 2012 (e.g., only 1/3 c. sour cream and add some Worcestershire sauce). I learned this basic recipe from my Mom and made it for my family all the time my kids were growing up. It';s still a favorite. I do add a little cream cheese also."

I made half this recipe and it was plenty for two. Delicious! I also added tarragon and about a tablespoon of vinegar and liked the flavor better. Its nice to be able to come close to duplicating the Melting Pot experience without spending a ton of money."

Good stuff! I agree this recipe is a little spicy, but very good and pretty close to what it's like at the Melting Pot. I usually just make half of what this calls for. It's nice to be able to try to duplicate the food experience without spending so much."

This was good! I didn't have any nutmeg. Also, I also added a little butter while cooking the onions and other seasonings. Cooked it in the broth long enough for the leaves to be tender. I love greens, so I'm easy to please."
