I could have written Jill Krone's review and like m_potter, I am an excellent cook and baker so I too was frustrated. I made these tonight for our 26th anniversary dinner and the color was all wrong so I added another ounce of chocolate. The flavor was neither chocolatey or caramel. So disappointed too.

What salt crust is everyone talking about? I followed the instructions and came out with a nice rub but it did not make a crust. Are you sure you had a big enough roast? Also, Jabaal, it is prime rib...it is traditionally served rare meaning RED."
