Great dinner for a winter night. The excess flour browned quite a bit during the cooking process so my sauce was much darker then the picture but it tasted great!

Reviewed Honey-Apple-Almond Cake

Apr 10, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made the Honey-Apple-Almond cake from my FN magazine for my birthay. The entire assembled cake was delicious. Even had someone ask for the recipe. I do agree with the other reviews of the basic vanilla cake: this does not produce a super soft cake or a cake that is supermarket sweet. All the cakes from the year of cake have additional flavor lay"

I made this cake as the base for the Honey-Apple-Almond cake from my FN magazine. I was worried when I pulled it out of the oven because it had not risen as much as I had expected. However, the entire assembled cake was delicious. Even had someone ask for the recipe. I do agree with the other reviews that this does not produce a super soft cak"

Thought this was a very good recipe. Didn't need all the dressing, and I had the 1.25 lbs of kale. A very good way to include such a leafy green into a salad."

Very good recipe! Not a big salad eater, but the flavors in this one work quite well together. Only alteration I made was to not use as much olive oil."

I only made the crab cakes, but they were amazing! Also used panco bread crumbs. You don't need the full two cups for breading.""

I tossed them in the fridge to firm up and they were fine. Second batch I took to hard ball, 250 and had no trouble with the caramel being firm at room temp. Microwaving the pumpkin (as sta...

A great and reliable recipe. We use a larger chicken and don't bother to change the cooking time. Leftovers are so tasty, we make this early on in the week and use the chicken in other recipes. Highly recommend."

Only flavor we got was coffee - too bitter to be tasty :/

Reviewed Chocolate Chip Challah Bread

Made this tonight. Loved that the magazine featured and easy bread recipe. The finished product, however, was much more dense/heaver then I was expecting. It was more like eating Challah dough. Also, not nearly enough chocolate chips!!

Full disclosure: This was my first time making Challah bread.
