Reviewed Gingerbread Boys and Girls

"I made a double batch - although side by side instead of in one bowl - and followed this recipe to the letter, including allowing wrapping the two resulting dough balls in their own plastic and chilling for an hour. They came out beautifully.

I cut one out (in the pan before baking) into the pieces for a house and used a small gingerbread man and Christmas tree cookie cutter on the other. I rolled them a little thicker, about 1/4" and baked them in my convection oven at 330 for 11 minutes.

Again, perfect. They look wonderful, taste excellent held up to handling during decorating and house building and the kids had a blast making the dough, rolling it out, and decorating.

I am a husband, a father, a CEO, an author, a pilot, a tournament angler, a Porschephile and a cook. I jump into everything I undertake with passion and zeal. I am presently 'going pro' in that I have been accepted to attend Le Cordon Bleu in Pittsburgh and am trying to carve out a year off of work to do so before opening my own Bistro. My profile name, Tuna Tuesday, is derived from a party that we throw on Tuesdays after I return from offshore fishing. We fish and clean our catch on the weekend and prep and invite on Mondays - then it's game on! We serve dozens of varieties of SW-Caribe-Asian fusion seafood and appetizers.
