Reviewed meat loaf

Oct 5, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

I have mad Ina Garten 's turkey meatloaf so many times, want to do beef this time. Isn't this recipe exactly the same except using ground beef instead of ground turkey? Has anyone used beef broth instead of chicken broth here?

I made this recipe last night, and everyone loved it! I tweeked it a bit to make it a bit easier and avoid my past issue of too much oil. First, I rubbed the chicken with a very little olive oil and seasoned with salt and pepper. No flour. Then I put them into a Mario Batali lasagna pan-similar to Le Creuset, enamel coated cast iron. Very good. Easy. Can use boneless, skinless chicken breasts as well. Veggies and either rice or angel hair pasta as sides for family.

Yep, meatballs always get cooked in the oven here....for any meatball recipe. It's a great way to do them, and you're not standing over them! Any drippings can go into the pot of soup or sauce.

Replied to Chicken Stew with Biscuits

I've made this recipe at least 25-30 times. The biscuits don't get soggy on the bottom. Stick with directions, only use half and half in both biscuits and sauce. My biggest problem is that I over work the biscuits. Be gentle, and they won't be tough!

Wow! This was terrific! My husband and sons all had seconds. I'd bought 2 pounds of spicy sausage and bit over a pound of ground beef, used extra tomato sauce and cheese. Cut back on oregano and bay leaf because of spicy sausage. Hubby asked if we could have leftovers for dinner next day-and he's not one for leftovers.

Have been making these recipies for several years now, always a hit! Don't bake as long as recipie states they're better a bit chewy, take them out 2-4 min sooner.Taking them to 2 holiday dinners this week. I believe this recipe is why we're invited to the first one."
