I have made this chili several times, and it is truly wonderful--just spicy enough. I crumble a little sweet cornbread on top with some grated cheese, and it's one of my family's favorites. I also leave out the beans, because in Texas, you don't use beans--that's a stew, not a chili: "

This is a great dish, and it does not need the garlic added--in my opinion. I added the garlic that some other members recommended, and it overpowered the whole dish. The next time I made it without, and it was much fresher tasting. ""
