I have been making Brussel Sprouts similar to this for years. The only difference is that I use slab or thick sliced bacon and carmelize the onions. Also, I always mix the the bacon bits into the onion and sprout mix before adding the broth. Sometimes I will brown the sprouts up a bit to give them that added sweetness. "
