Reviewed lemon blueberry cheesecake bars

Mar 10, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

These bars didn't hold up for me and I was disappointed since I was taking them to a family gathering. The taste was ok, but they definitely didn't stay in bar form. I should've just stuck with the recipe I always use...

Reviewed three bean and beef chili

Mar 10, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

I've made this at least ten times since I found this recipe and I love it. I think it is the simplest and most delicious chili I've ever had. The only thing I have changed is to add more chipotles since I like it spicy.

Reviewed capellini with spicy zucchini-tomato sauce

Mar 10, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

This recipe is quick, easy and tastes good as well. I've made it with the san marzano tomatoes but also just with whole hunts tomatoes with basil. I didn't really notice a taste difference, but it definitely is a less expensive option. I also usually at least double the garlic because I love garlic.

Reviewed naan: indian oven-baked flat bread

Feb 17, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

This recipe is simple and made very delicious naan. My boyfriend is Indian and he said it was better than any restaurant naan he's had. Also, I did make it in the oven. All I did was put a baking stone on the middle shelf, set the heat to 500 and when it was preheated put one naan in at a time on the baking stone. Cooked for a minute, flipped with...

Reviewed Lemon Curd Trifle with Fresh Berries

May 26, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I can't comment on the lemon curd since I always use store bought, but the combination of berries, lemon cream and cake in the recipe are absolutely delicious. I always make my own pound cake at least one day before assembling and fresh whipping cream on the spot. I've been making this trifle for at least 5 years and everyone loves it! It's a memo"

Reviewed 20-Minute Shrimp and Couscous With Yogurt-Hummus Sauce

Mar 18, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Quick and healthy recipe! The ingredients are on the expensive side and not things I generally have on hand. The dip is very good mixed in with the shrimp and couscous."

Reviewed Turkey Meatloaf

Mar 18, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Pretty good recipe for turkey meatloaf. I only used 3# of ground turkey and kept all other ingredients the same. I will make this again for sure, the leftovers are just as good!"

Reviewed Lemon Ricotta Cookies with Lemon Glaze

Mar 18, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These cookies didn't last very long at my house. I only glazed half of them and thought the ones without the glaze were delicious as well. I did use skim ricotta. I'm looking forward to trying this recipe using orange instead of lemon like some other reviewers have stated. "

Reviewed Oven Fried Chicken

Mar 18, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I followed the cooking instructions exactly and my chicken was soggy on the bottom, even with using the rack. Also, I thought the flavor was bland and lacking. I gave it two stars because the chicken was juicy. I won't be making this again."

Reviewed Roast Chicken With Spring Vegetables

Mar 18, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is a delicious recipe. I peeled back the skin on the chicken and put the lemon, oil, salt and pepper directly on the meat and then recover with the skin for roasting. I also stick some dill under there as well. This way you can take the skin off before eating and the flavor is still on the meat without too much extra fat. I had never roasted "

Reviewed Chicken Enchiladas

Feb 15, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

The only thing I did differently with this recipe was used bone-in-chicken that I boiled and then picked and shredded. I added the spices to the rest of the mix. For some reason this had a very sweet flavor. I'm not sure if it was the stewed tomatoes? Also, my corn tortillas fell apart as well. My boyfriend liked it when I mixed the leftovers with"

Reviewed Mexican Rice

Feb 11, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Just made this recipe. Turned out well, I just think it needs a little more flavor for that amount of rice. Too much rice to spice and veggie ratio."

Reviewed Low-Cal Fettuccine Alfredo

Jan 31, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Delicious! Like many others I added chicken to make it a complete meal. I also added a little lemon juice to the sauce beside the zest. Will definitely make again."

Reviewed Curried Chicken and Rice Soup

Jan 31, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I thought this soup lacked something. Even after doubling the amount of curry powder it still was not very flavorful. I removed the skin from the chicken before cooking it to reduce the fat, so maybe that decreased the flavor. I am giving it 3 stars though because pureeing the rice and onions into the broth makes for a very creamy consistency."
