Reviewed Baked French Toast Casserole with Maple Syrup

"I've been looking for a simple and delicious french toast casserole and I think I found it. I didn't have as much bread as the recipe called for so I just modified the ingredients; I basically used 3/4 of everything it called for. (i.e. 6 eggs instead of 8, etc). Reviewed Halloween Peppermint Patties

"For taste I'd give this 5 stars but had to give it 3 due to ease of the recipe. I followed the recipe exactly and it didn't have the correct consitency AT ALL! I even watched the show again to see if I was missing something. It was very messy and extremely frustrating to keep having to add sugar---especially when it looked so easy on the show. I must have at least doubled the amount of sugar the recipe called for. That said, they were a big hit at the party. It made me feel better that even though they were super messy and a pain to make, people really liked them. I dyed mine pink (for my daughter's birthday party and I plan to make them again and dye them red or green for a Christmas party this weekend. If you can get the recipe down, they make a great party dessert and I love that you can dye them to match any color scheme.
