Made-from-scratch baking devotee who had to learn how to "cook" after the divorce. Learned to cook my longtime faves from my Mom, then self-taught myself to cook all of my favorite dishes from all regions of the world.
I rarely dine out anymore unless it's some over the top food item that is either labor intensive or that I *know* I wouldn't be able to duplicate. Otherwise, if I know my version is better than what is being served, I just assume cook it myself!
