It needed more milk, broccoli, cream, and butter. Besides that, it wasn't bad.""

Reviewed Spiked Milkshakes

Jul 12, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

My kids absolutely loved these milkshakes. I made them for my son's 5th birthday party and everyone had the BEST TIME! We will make them again next year. The only complaint was the next day, a few parents called and said their children had headaches. I think it may have been from the coffee beans... you know how 5-year-olds are with caffeine!"

This was the MOST COMPLEX recipe for a root beer float that I have ever seen! I like them short, simple, and to the point - just like Dark Chocolate as a Snack!"

Man... I never realized that you had to turn ON the grill first. That's why I've failed so miserably at toasting buns on the grill."

There are not enough directions. How exactly do you slice bread? What do you use? I always buy pre-sliced bread. Is that OK? Will I get into trouble if I use sliced bread? Also, how do you MAKE toast in the oven? I tried this once. I set the oven to 400 degrees and put the bread in for 45 minutes. I felt that my toast was a bit too "toasty." "

Reviewed Lemon Sorbet

May 9, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I'm not a fan of this recipe... it is far too complicated for me. You see... I live 150 miles away from the nearest grocery store, but I have lemons growing in my backyard in California. Is there a way that I can take those lemons and make them into sorbet? Could I just juice them and put them in the freezer? PLEASE HELP!"

Reviewed Angel Food Cake with Berries and Whipped Cream

Apr 12, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Personally, I prefer the simpler recipes like "Dark Chocolate as a Snack." This is just too complicated. Next time, I'm just going to buy the angel food cake and eat it with some canned whipped cream. That will be MUCH easier."

Reviewed Ham Steaks

Mar 28, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I didn't like this recipe, but I tried it a second time and made some changes:
I substituted the ham for a combination of chicken legs and thighs, pearl onions, lardon, mushrooms, a medium onion, celery, carrots, garlic, thyme, and a bay leaf. I substituted the EVOO for salt, pepper, flour, butter, red wine, tomato paste, and chicken stock....

I don't have room in my glove compartment, as it's full of unpaid parking tickets and an unregistered gun. Do you have any recommendations of where I can put this snack?"

I personally just prefer the dark chocolate... nothing else. It makes a GREAT snack. They should create a recipe here on Food Network. Maybe they could call it something like "Dark Chocolate as a Snack." Just a suggestion!

Delicious. I combined this recipe with several OTHER classic recipes here. I added the fruit, nuts, dark chocolate, rosemary, dish towels, a baked potato, cheese platter, Paula's English pease, and some popcorn kernels and combined them all into one dish. Everything into one bowl! DEEEEEEELICIOUS! Yum yum yum yum yum yum! I just can't wait to...

I was throwing a $500 fundraiser cocktail party and I went to the BEST cheese shop in my town. They recommended Velveeta and Rtiz crackers, as that was all they had. I guess I should have mentioned that in my TOWN, there are only two stores... a hardware store and a Dollar Store. I could have gone to the next town over, but the recipe told me to...

Feb 4, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These were the absolute WORST tasting towels I've ever had. Let me tell you... I've had some BAD towels before, too. I recommend slowly braising the towels in a dutch oven for 2 hours. Start off by heating a little "good" EVOO over medium-high heat and brown the towels for 4-5 minutes on each side. Add in a chopped onion and 2 cloves of garlic....
