Reviewed Throwdown's Chocolate-Coconut Bread Pudding with Passion Fruit Sauce
"This recipe is pretty good. A great thing to whip up to impress your coworkers at bring-a-dish/dessert functions and those bake sales. However, I agree with another reviewer - the throw down competitor's recipe was better. And I loved Bobby Flay as a chef before Throwdown, but can't stand him now. The ego it takes for a professional chef with professional help like Bobby Flay to go up against an amateur chef is crazy. You know the Throwdown show I want to see? Bobby Flay Throwdown against the best chefs in the business like Paula Dean, Emeril, Keller, and so forth on their signature dishes. Prove your mettle Bobby because anyone can take down an amateur boxer, but not just anyone can take down Ali or Frazier.
Reviewed Biscuit and Blue Cheese Bread Pudding
"Great recipe, but to be honest - this woman sounds like an idiot. I've watched her cooking shows and despite the fact that she looks like a down home mother or grandma, her mispronunciations irritate me to no end. I'm not talking about the southern affectations either. Paula, you need to speak well. Once you do, you'll be far more beloved, but until then, when you mispronounce a word or two a few times in a show, I can't take you that seriously AND you know it's more than that.
Reviewed Good Eats Roast Turkey
"I think it's great, BUT Alton, at times, you're going to have someone try this recipe and forget to thoroughly rinse the turkey, or need a lower sodium brine. So, how about adding a couple of substitutions or alternatives to an ingredient like the Kosher Salt? Or a good way to counteract the salt if the turkey is not thoroughly rinsed. Just a thought..
