Reviewed Strawberry Shortcut Cake

"I couldn't find a strawberry cake mix in any grocery store in my area, so like many others, I substituted a butter flavor white cake mix instead. I must say that this cake tastes exactly like strawberry shortcake, however.... It was way too soggy. I knew when I was pouring that cool jello liquid over the cake that it seemed like I had more than enough. Maybe using only half the amount of jello would be better because the strawberries create a juice factor of their own. Hard to even get cut cake squares out of the pan afterwards it was so saturated. It wasn't horrible, but I wouldn't make it again. It's not like this is any shortcut from just making normal strawberry shortcake and I prefer the texture of the sweetened biscuits over wet cake any day. And like the others said, 1 cup of whipped cream is not nearly enough."

Reviewed Chicken Parmesan

"So, so good! I love that the chicken breast is not breaded like is commonly done with chicken parm. I used chicken tenderloins and my own red spaghetti sauce, but you could easily use a good jar sauce and it would still work. The family ate it right up!"

Reviewed Southern Cornbread Salad

"This salad was surprisingly good. I wanted to try it because it was something totally different from salads I would normally make. With the odd combination of layers in here, I was intrigued, but didn't have my hopes up too high. I absolutely loved it. I only made a 1/2 recipe, just in case it was a flop and my daughter and I were fighting over the leftovers! It looks elegant in the bowl and is so unique, it'll be great for my next potluck. "

Reviewed Chicken Tetrazzini

"Very impressed with this dish. Another winner from Giada! I always make half a recipe when I try something new because it's so hard to get rid of food when no one likes it. And I hate to waste food! Well, this casserole was gone in a flash, but a half recipe was really the perfect size for a family of 4. I wouldn't make the full recipe unless I had others over or planned to freeze some for later. The joke in our house is that I can never make a meal that all 4 people agree is great. This one was an exception to that rule. My daughter was bummed that there were no leftovers for the next day. It is a little bit of work, but not bad at all.
