The first time I made them, they were fantastic. I made them a second time and they were a flop. Convinced I left out an ingredient, I made them again. They did not rise. What am I doing wrong? I still have to rate this a 5 because they were really really good when I made them correctly. I will try them again because I know they were a success...

As I mentioned in my last post, was not impressed either witht the vanilla cake. I enjoyed the Chocolate black out cake so much, I tried to duplicate in Vanilla. The Cake was dense, I had mixed reviews about that. To each his own I guess, and the frosting was much too sweet for my likes. "

Made this cake for my daughters birthday, it was a huge success, would recommend. The second time I made this cake, I tried it with the Vanilla cake and substitued White Semi Sweet morsels. Wouldn't recommend this. For some reason the icing did not have the same consistancy as the chocolate did and was much too sweet."

Tried this recipe last weekend. Pork and Pesto were fabulous. Definately will make again. Screwed up on the pomagrant sauce. boiled too long it was hard as a rock. Thought I'd have to throw out the pot. Bobby wouldn't have been pleased LOL. Never roasted Brussel Sprouts before, they came out really good inspite of the missing sauce. I will ma"
