"I am so glad Aarti won! I've been dying to try some of her recipes and chose this one to make first despite the fact that I NEVER had a Dal that I liked....before now anyway. This one was fantastic and I love the fact that it is such a healthy recipe and so easy to make. I will be making this again. I made some substitutions to fit what I had in the house. I used ginger paste (seriously if you don't have this BUY it at any Asian or Middle Eastern grocery store..its so much easier and has a long shelf life cumin powder instead of seeds (used less since it was powder of course, and a combo of red pepper flakes and cayenne pepper (powder instead of the chili. YUM! DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS RECIPE DOUBLES WELL? I would love to bring this to a party.
