My Activity

Reviewed Overnight Oatmeal

"1. I made this in my Rival Stoneware slow cooker crockpot purchased at least 20 - 25 years ago.
2. I made this during the day so that I could watch it in case things started to go awry, as many other reviewers mentioned. I stirred it every couple of hours and had no burning or sticking issues.
3. 8 hours and 10 minutes have now gone by--on low--and the oatmeal texture is perfect for me. Sort of crunchy/chewy. My only complaint is that it's still a little soupy. I'll cut back on the water just a bit for the next batch. That's my preference, and may not be yours.
4. I didn't add fruit, but instead seasoned it with cinnamon, fresh grated nutmeg, vanilla, a little brown sugar, and 1T butter. I'll add fruit and nuts tomorrow morning for breakfast. Can't wait.
The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I didn't follow the recipe exactly. But, if you have an older crock pot and an 8 hour sleep cycle, I think this will work for you. Enjoy.
