My Activity

Reviewed Kheema: Indian Ground Beef with Peas

"We enjoyed this; the mixture of all the spices was delicious, but I doubled the amount and next time will triple the amount to suit my taste.""

Reviewed Creamy, Lemony, Pepper-Parmesan Dressing on Romaine Lettuce Salad

"Yum! Had only a couple spoonfuls of mayonnaise left in the jar, and half a lemon languishing in the fridge, so I decided to give this a whirl. I thought the taste was really lovely - not overly lemony for me at all. This one is a keeper."

Reviewed Stove Top Mac-n-Cheese

"Not nearly as good as I expected it to be, although the arrival of guests distracted me while cooking and the macaroni was overcooked a bit, and the whole dish came out a bit dry rather than super creamy. I'm going to try it again with a few tweaks.

Reviewed Apple Coffee Cake with Crumble Topping and Brown Sugar Glaze

"We thought this was good, but not great. Followed the recipe for the cake and crumb topping but didn't make the glaze. If I made it again I would double the apples called for, as you could hardly tell that there were any apples in the cake. It was also a little too sweet for my taste even without the glaze and the use of Granny Smith apples to cut down on the sweetness.

Reviewed Slow Cooked Brussels Sprouts

"Outstanding! I've been roasting my brussels sprouts, but I like this preparation much better. Slow cooking them results in such tender and sweet little cabbages, this will be my new go-to recipe.

Reviewed Ribollita con Verdure

"Delish! I was looking for a recipe to use up half a loaf of leftover Italian bread and came across this winner, which was perfect since I also had 1/4 bottle of Chianti leftover from the same meal. The changes I made (out of necessity, since I was cooking with what I had on hand): used only 2 slices of bacon, which still gave it plenty of smoky flavor; used only 4 cups (one box) of beef stock and made up the difference with 2 cups of water; used spinach instead of kale; used dried rosemary. This is a very flexible recipe and so hearty and wonderful.
