Very fresh, light salad. The combination of flavors work really well together.

Reviewed Apple Chips with Sweet Yogurt Dip

Jun 15, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Not sure why everyone is having trouble with the burned apples. Mine turned out crispy and delicious, not burned tasting at all. I used a mandolin to slice them very thinly (about 1/8"). I also cooked them on a Silpat silicone baking sheet for about 50 minutes. When I took them out they still seemed a little soggy but crisped up as they cooled"

These turned out beautifully. I followed Melissa's directions exactly and the meringues were crispy on the outside and a little chewy on the inside. Even my father who said he'd never choose a meringue for dessert raved about it. The recipe doubled easily and needless to say my extra meringues had vdisappeared after dinner."

These are really delicious. Even my daughter who has issues with vegetables went back for seconds. I should have made more....next time! I too found they didnt need 25 minutes. About 10 to 15 is enough or they burn on the bottom."

Reviewed Green Salad with Roasted Pears and Blue Cheese

May 16, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This salad is really delicious. The roasted pears make it. I used red pears which worked well. They stayed firm and didn't get mushy. The blue cheese was perfect with them. My family really liked this salad. Will definitely make again."

Reviewed Crunchy Peanut Caramel Nougat Candy Bar

Apr 16, 2012 in Recipes on Cooking Channel

If my 13 year old hadn't been watching this episode with me I never would have tackled candy bars. But I'm glad I did. These were really good. They're a little tricky in that you really have to watch the temperature of the nougat and carmel so that it doesn't over cook. We omitted the peanuts in the carmel layer but you could still taste the pean"

Reviewed Crispy Breakfast Pita

Very simple and oh so good. Didn't change a thing about the recipe. This combination of flavors is really yummy together. My daughter folded the whole thing and ate it like a taco. I combined this recipe this with Giada's carrot and tomato soup for a wonderfully quick weeknight dinner."

Reviewed Rustic Pear Tart

This is really yummy. The crust is delicious and has a great flavor from the spices. You could easily make this ahead and let it sit in the refrigerator until you need to bake it. ""

Reviewed Chicken Enchiladas with Roasted Tomatillo Chile Salsa

May 8, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I must have done something very wrong. These were bland and soggy. I roasted the vegetables as directed but they hardly cooked in the 15 minutes directed. I should have cooked them for longer. Everyone raved about the sauce but I didn't think it had much flavor. I wish I had read further down in the comments about how to prepare the flour tor"

Reviewed Broiled Tilapia with Mustard-Chive Sauce

May 2, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I converted the Tilapia dislikers in my family with this recipe! The combination of the sweet potato/carrot puree and the fish is wonderful. The yogurt sauce gave it just the right finishing tang...and like others commented, even my kids liked it. I did add more yogurt to the sauce to get a thicker consistency. Over all a great recipe."
