I am thinking that those who thought the dish was too salty may have been using table salt. I do believe Ina only uses kosher salt, as do I.

I followed the recipe almost exactly, except of course the amount of ingredients. Now I don't measure. So did use (1)one large egg. Used one medium onion,...

Excellent recipe. Started too late in the afternoon not realizing how much time it was going to take me to prep all the ingredients.
I too used the panko crumbs which I did brown in the oven. Also used the wild sockeye salmon which I purchased at Costco. They have them in their frozen section and they come in individual packs in a bag.
Needless...

I have prepared this appetizer up to the point of stuffing the shells. I used lump crab meat inlieu of shrimp, as I am doing a shrimp dish for the entree. Also I halved the recipe. The filling tastes fantastic and I have no doubt the end result will be the same. I most likely will have to reheat the filling a bit so it can be easy to scoop into th"

I just finished making this. I only gave it 4 stars right now as I have not tasted it yet. The liquid for the ladyfingers makes way too much. Not sure what to do with the leftovers. Also my glass pyrex 9x13 really wasn't deep enough so I only had room for 2 layers and therefore made another in an 8x8 with the filling being a bit stingy. I froze that...
