"This isn't terrible, but for the amount of time and effort (and dishes!) you could make something a lot better. Extremely bland and greasy. Wish I'd used the ingredients to make a nice pastitsio instead!
I won't be making this again, but if you want to try it, I would suggest using fresh spinach and/or mixing the spinach into the ricotta, along with a healthy dose of sauteed garlic and onion (or sauteing the garlic and onion with the meat). Double the amount of salt and pepper you think you need to add to each part. Forget dotting the top with butter before baking -- just makes it oily.
