Replied to mongolian beef

They never made the Mongolian Beef! The one they made was Pagoda Steak! The link on here doesn't work, so just Google Pagoda North Pole and the site comes up, click on it, click reviews and they have a little video from the show This is a big problem with triple D!

Replied to Mongolian Beef Recipe : Food Network

I have worked in Chinese Restaurants 20 years. I have cooked in those woks; The 3 dishes they prepared were Alaskan King Crab Legs with Ginger, Walnut Shrimp and Pagoda Steak. The one you saw was Pagoda Steak! I did see a sever bring a Mongolian Beef to the table and announce it as she set it down and it had more color to it than just beef with green...

You lost patience. A good Gumbo Roux takes time. I am a retired Chef. I don't use butter, I use oil with an equal amount of flour. She says to cook on low, I would have been whisking that for hours to get that color! Sub Chef Paul's Poultry Magic for the Creole Seasoning, much better. If you can find Smoked Andouille instead of Kielbasa, better yet!...

Total Time:
1 hr 50 min
Prep:
20 min
"Inactive"
1 hr 10 min
Cook:
20 min

Look at the "inactive" time. They should have been chilled first! Sugar cookie dough is always chilled first so it won;t spread....

I noticed that she didn't chill the dough at all, and sugar cookie dough is chilled for a bit, so you can slice it, or roll it out for cookie cutters. Wondering if it would help if you made the fingers and chilled them first...

Just as Jovanna said, try pepitas, which is the raw inside of the pumpkin seed and the ones I have bought are greenish in color.

I tried that once with my ricer and it bent the handles to a point where I had to buy a new one! Give me a good old fashion flour sack towel and my husbands hands any day.

Go to Jeff's page and search this recipe: "Homemade Hot Giardiniera", I am assuming he used his own. The Balsamic Reduction is listed in the recipe, or you can buy it in the store.

Replied to Beef and Noodles Recipe : Food Network

I would choose a sirloin tip roast over a top round. After you cut the beef into cubes and add to the stock to simmer for the extra 30 minutes(keep the cover on), taste your beef, if not tender enough, cover and simmer longer. I am a retired Chef, and as one I read into recipes. I can see this recipe did not explain well enough for the home cook....
