Replied to gwen's old-fashioned potato-beef casserole

That will work. I tried it with 4 large potatos in a 9x13 dish. I also salted my potatos while cooking and when i put them in the pan I added salt and pepper to them before adding the cheese/meat mixture. I added french's fried onions to the top instead of the breadcrumb. My family loved it!!

I only used 4 potatos in mine and I topped mine with French's Fried onions instead of the bread crumbs. It came out soooo good!! it was a great new twist on a scalloped potato recipe

This is the second time I've made this. I love the taste of it. I've followed the directions in the recipe exactly. Except that my beef come's out a little to tough for my liking. Does anyone know how to correct it so it comes out more soft & tender? do you cook it longer in the oven? or maybe should I try using a crock pot?? any suggestions??

This is the second time I've made this recipe. The taste is fantastic. My only issue is that my beef dosn't come out as soft and tender as I wish it to be. Has anyone else had this issue? and if so how do you correct it?
