My Activity

Reviewed Glazed Carrots and Turnips

"I replaced the granulated sugar with brown sugar, doubling the amount called for. When it came time to "turn up the heat", I added another tbsp of brown sugar to the skillet. It was great - carmelized very nicely and the carrots were well cooked."

Reviewed Peppermint Chocolate Coffee

"Made this to accompany our Christmas Dinner dessert and everyone said it was the best coffee ever! I couldn't find peppermint syrup so I used two small candy canes (kept them in their cellophane wrappers, placed in a ziplock bag and smashed them with a mallet) per cup of coffee. Delicious!!""

Reviewed Vegetable Tarte Tatin

"Made this for Christmas Dinner - everyone loved it! I was not successful in making the carmelized layer for the bottom of the pan - after throwing out two batches of "muck" (and I did swirl the pan as opposed to stirring), I substituted a small amount of maple syrup. Worked like a charm!""

Reviewed Good Eats Roast Turkey

"My sister always hosts Thanksgiving Dinner. They are always good (even the year she roasted the turkey upside down) but this year I recommended she try this recipe and it was WONDERFUL! Everyone agreed it was the best turkey ever - I don't usually care for white meat because it's so dry but this was so moist and tender. Thanks yet again, Alton!""

Reviewed Not Your Mama's Green Bean Casserole

"After years of the same boring but traditional green bean casserole on the Thanksgiving dinner table, I was looking for something new. Everyone LOVED it - there were no leftovers! After reading other reviews, I did use canned onions to save time and it was still delicious. You rock, Alton!""

Reviewed Pappardelle With Corn

"The chain "Fresh Market" carries Pappardelle Pasta. I always keep a supply on hand because it really does make a difference in recipes such as this!""
