My Activity
Reviewed The Lady and Sons Lasagna
"I will be the first to say that I use a shortcut and use store bought sauce. I use something that is natural and simple flavor (like tomato basil or traditional) and then doctor it up a little with onions, garlic and oregano. The classic filling is great! I have also used chicken and frozen spinach instead of ground beef which is probably more popular in my house.
Reviewed Toffee Gooey Butter Cake
"This is very sweet, so if you're not into that, you won't like this. However, I LOVE this dessert!! It is wonderful and I definitely wanted more. There are different ways to make it depending on the season. You could use red velvet cake mix instead of yellow cake and then skip the toffee bits. You can also make this very fall appropriate with pumpkin!! The middle does stay "gooey" and soft. The edges brown nicely.
Reviewed Vegetable Coleslaw
"We love this coleslaw!! Wow!! I use half fat free greek yogurt and half mayo to lighten it up. It definitely has a tang because of the mustard. The celery salt/seed add a lot of good taste. This is great with bbq and we had if with ruebens as well. You may not need to add all the dressing, do it gradually so the slaw won't be too wet.
Reviewed Macaroni Salad
"This is classic macaroni salad that is so wonderful. It is great with barbecue or anything from the grill. I use half fat free greek yogurt and half mayo to lighten things up a little. You may not need all the dressing- just depends on how coated you like this. It is good for a few days after it's made too.
Reviewed Curried Chicken Salad
"This is a regular at our house! I use regular raisins and use half greek yogurt/half mayo. This is great on lettuce wraps, in wraps, on sandwich thins, or with regular loaf bread.
Reviewed Chicken Piccata
"The flavors are fresh and vibrant in this dish. This is great with pasta or potatoes. The fresh parsley makes it pop!
Reviewed Chocolate and Cheese Danish
"Wonderful!! I halved the recipe to make 4 danishes which was really easy. I used all cream cheese as well. I can't wait to try it with fruits. These are just as good reheated in the toaster oven.
Reviewed Caramel Cinnamon Latte
"I love drinking coffee out. This was a great substitute for the fancy drinks that can be costly and have lots of calories. I used strong coffee and fat free half and half (a little less than 1/2 cup). Rather than cinnamon syrup, I mixed 2 tsp of water with a dash of cinnamon and a half packet of equal in a large mug and microwaved it for about a minute. You could probably substitute chocolate syrup for caramel and make it like a mocha. Then I added all the other things- It was like being in a coffee house!
