"Too much fussing. I have gone through these steps and I don't think it does anything except use up paper towels and mess up the counter. I found no difference in the flavor. Frying them in batches is a pain. "

"I made the Libby pumpkin pie for years and years. Then I happened to see Paula's Apple Butter Pumpkin Pie. My Mom loved pumpkin pie and I made this recipe one year and she was so impressed. She would even request it during the year, not just at Thanksgiving. I do not understand why this pie is only showing four stars. It should have at least 10!!!! Thanks Paula!
