Followed recipe exactly except I started with a lot less sugar, but it was sour and bitter I kept adding more. It didn't help. Added garlic and a little steak sauce. No better. Hubby said the joes were bland. So forgettable, he forgot to eat the leftovers.
Usually I like Rachaels recipes--I don't know what went wrong on this one. ""

This was my first attempt to make crab cakes and they were delicious! Perfect balance of ingredients. I used canned Chicken of the Sea crab claw meat I found at Trader Joes in the refrigerated section. Erg. I read reviews AFTER I made it for a luncheon at work. Needless to say, after one taste, I didnt bring it to my school! Very alcohol-y! Too much rum!! Luckily I can bring the dessert to a bunco party where it will please palates and intoxicate simultaneously!

Wow. Everything everyone said is true. I used lamb loin chops from Sam's Club (imported from NZ. It's darn cold in Chicago, so used a grill pan and grilled 4 minutes per side med-hi heat, then finished in a 425 over for 8 minutes. Let them sit for a few mintues. They were juicy and perfectly done. Served with Bobby Flay's roasted brussel sprouts/pancetta/potato...
