Reviewed Short Ribs with Tagliatelle
"I saw this episode on Cooking Channel earlier this week and it sounded great. I was wanting to try a new cut of meat to serve the fam. First of all, I thought the flavor was very good. I like a thicker sauce typically but it was very tasty and the kids and husband agreed. I used chuck short ribs because that's what was on sale. It went togeth"
Reviewed Herbed New Potatoes
"These are great! What a great alternative to roasting or boiling. I used a specialty "honey gold" potato that was on sale (about golf ball size). I don't have a dutch oven so used a heavy saucepan and made sure to keep lid on and shake it every 5 minutes or so. Took about 25 minutes and they were delish! Potatoes and butter and parsley--yum!
Reviewed Panettone Bread Pudding with Cinnamon Syrup
"Delicious!! Even after a huge Christmas dinner, this still was the hit of the table. I had to sub with cream instead of whole milk but it just made it even better. Fabulous!
Reviewed Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake
"Oh my!! This cake was incredible--rich, creamy and not TOO sweet. I only had 2 problems. Being the only cook in the country without a food processor, the crust was a little bit of a pain (chopping the nuts and chips up but I made it work with a mini-chopper. Secondly, I made this for Christmas dessert which was a mistake. Everybody was so STUFFED already from dinner, it was really hard to enjoy it! I will definitely make again when it can be the star!

Reviewed Super Apple Pie
"Tried this for Thanksgiving and it was a good pie. "Sweating" the apples and minimal sugar intrigued me. I went to a local "Cook's Station" store & got the bird for $4 and RIGHT next to it happen to be a 2 in' quich pan for $22. Skipped the grains b/c knew kids wouldn't go for it. Found tapico flour for $2 @ whole foods. Presentation was great--will skip brushing the juice on top as it did "over brown" the crust. Also used Aida's crust recipe. Next ime will use more apples (I used 9) and more spice (maybe grains). Beautiful pie though.
Reviewed Yeast Rolls
"I read all 27 reviews and decided to do the 3 egg/3 yeast pack alternative. I added extra 1/2 c flour and dough was SUPER wet which made me nervous. But they still acted just as it was supposed to and looked beautifully golden brown out of the oven. The taste and texture was great! Just what I wanted. But I certainly regretted adding that extra half cup of flour because they were desert dry. All in all, an easy and great tasting recipe and I'll be more aware of the flour next time.
