Unusual taste--more spice than chocolate. I, too, will cut the cinnamon. I creamed together all the wet ingredients and sugar with a hand mixer; using the processor as advised seemed a waste. They are best with not too much ganache on top. They were dry until the second day. They grow on one; kids probably wouldn't like them. ""

A cake to die for. It has a unique texture due to the amaretti base, and a sophisticated, complex taste. For my personal preference, I used bittersweet chips (Ghirardelli) and added 1 T of sugar. These cookies have a great texture and a wonderful, fresh lemon brightness, with a delicious background of tangy ricotta. For the glaze, I used a reamer that also removed the pulp, which I retrieved and used (it took some muscle work), giving even more lemon zing.
