Reviewed Lemon Cake

"This cake was SO dry and way too dense. Way too much flour in this batter recipe. Tried to eat one slice, then threw the entire thing in the trash."

Reviewed Chocolate-Raspberry Mascarpone Bars

"I only used 3 eggs in the marscapone mixture, which was plenty, it still set perfectly - there's no need for 5 eggs here. The problem was the biscotti base went all sticky & gooey from the raspberry jam. I'd recommend leaving the jam out altogether, it's not needed, the entire dessert is already super sweet. "

Reviewed Best Ever Coconut Cream Pie

"This was my first time making coconut cream pie. I like the texture of the center custard - but it wasn't a very strong coconut flavor, more like vanilla custard. Maybe using all coconut milk instead of whole milk? And maybe add coconut extract flavoring? Also, only needed a third of the toasted coconut for the top."

Reviewed Spiced Apple-Walnut Cake with Cream Cheese Icing

"The batter was so sweet before baking, that I didn't add any of the brown sugar to it - it's totally not needed in here with so much sweet syrup. It's a pricey cake, as maple syrup isn't cheap. Baked mine for 55mins exactly & it came out the pan perfectly. It's not dry or crumbly & it's very spiced. I just wasn't overwhelmed by this cake & don't t"

Reviewed Amaretto Chocolate Tart with Apricot Cream

"Very chocolaty! The crust came out great, I had some spare dough so I froze it. The center is incredibly chocolaty & not very sweet. I'd recommend doubling the sugar or using semisweet chocolate chips instead. I didn't make the apricot-cream, I just used heavy whipping cream instead, but it does need something creamy to cut through the richness."

Reviewed Chocolate-Cranberry Treats

"Pretty sweet! I did have a few lumps of egg in the mixture when I was cooking it on the hob, which was a bit odd, I just picked them out. I swapped almonds for hazelnuts. I didn't roll the balls in chocolate, I just added 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips into the mixture. I let the mixture cool for 20mins, made the balls & let them set for 10mins in t"
