I definitely agree with a lot of the reviews because I too had a lot of trouble getting the custard to thicken. I even took it off the stove, thinking it might thicken but it didn't so I put it back on the stove. After about 20 minutes of stirring on a very low heat, it finally started to thicken. Made this for the first time today but since I'm not a blue cheese lover, I substituted it with Feta cheese. They were very good but next time I make them, I think I'll use mozzarella and also add some Balsamic vinegar to the peppers."

Didn't fix it in a slow cooker. Grilled the chicken breasts for just a few minutes then finished cooking them in the oven over the frozen veggies. Poured the sauce over the breasts a few minutes before taking them out of the oven and sprinkled fresh parmesan cheese over them. Big hit! Couldn't find premade polenta anywhere, though.
