Reviewed Lobster Tails Thermidor

Nov 6, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

Very tasty but should have read the reviews first. Lobster was a bit rubbery, but flavor was good. Used panko instead of regular breadcrumbs and added a bit of grated nutmeg. This is a very rich dish though so a little goes a long way.

This was too lemony and I love lemons. My husband enjoyed it though. If I make this again, will definitely reduce the lemons."

I read through the reviews and they were very positive, and I've tried many of Emeril's recipes in the past with great success....I used all the ingredients except for the clams....And to help with flavor, I simmered the saffron and lobster shells with the chicken stock before adding it as directed....When this was all cooked, I found this had WAA"

Jun 16, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

First time making a lobster roll, but I tried this because it seemed simple. I liked it. It was tasty; the lemon was not overwhelming, and I added some minced chives, then put pepper, old bay and seasoned salt on the mixture to add a bit more flavor. I will definitely make this again."

These are okay. They are very sweet; and I find that after the baking time, they weren't very brown on the top/ bottom so I had to bake them longer. Baking them longer also helped to peel them off the parchment; otherwise they stick. Also, the pooling that some people mentioned, I also experienced. It wasn't horrible but I expected them to have a"

Reviewed Raspberry-Lemon Easter Cake

Mar 7, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made this cake based on the reviews and how the ingredients sounded. Who wouldn't love lemon, raspberries and sour cream. I added more lemon zest per some recommendations and did feel the cake tasted lemony in the end. Unfortunately, despite banging my cake pans against the counter, I still got a lot of air pockets in the finished product, and t"

Reviewed Pan-Seared Tuna with Avocado, Soy, Ginger, and Lime

Jan 31, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was a very easy and tasty recipe. I omitted the sugar for dietary reasons and didn't miss it at all. I added a bit more ginger because it seemed lost in the flavor, and my tuna was a thick cut so I cooked it for a couple of minutes on each side and it worked well for me. Also, I did a pound of tuna and used the same quantity of sauce in this "

Reviewed Spicy Baked Chickpeas

Jan 30, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I had high hopes for this recipe and though my chick peas came out crunchy, I thought the flavor was pretty bland. If I make this again, I will have to improvise and add more flavoring. Otherwise, it was a good concept and easy to make."

Reviewed Grandma's Old Fashioned Crab Cake Roll

This was pretty good. I only had 8 ounces of crab so I did some diced shrimp to make up the difference and it came out well. Will definitely be making this again."

Reviewed Apple Tarts

Oct 17, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These were pretty but the recipe needs work. I baked these for 40 mins and the tops burned. You definitely need less time on these. Also you may need to switch the pans in the oven to keep the cooking even. I used less sugar and butter - big mistake on the sugar because the apples were quite tart. I tried to fix this after the fact by adding some"

Oct 3, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

The flavor of these were very tasty but the texture of the hazelnuts in the macaroon left an odd feeling on the tongue. As a result, I wouldn't make these again and I love hazelnuts.

I want to amend my review. I remade these and focused on really grinding the hazelnuts. It made a HUGE difference with the texture of the macaroons...

Reviewed Chicken Parmesan

Oct 2, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Once I started making the sauce, I was skeptical about how it was going to turn out and taste. It was good. I'm not an olive fan but they do add a nice flavor to the sauce. I would say that the sauce is not very saucy so if you like your pasta slathered in sauce, this recipe is not it. Overall, this was a very tasty recipe."

Reviewed Spicy Chickpea Salad

Mar 17, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Very good. It reminds me of salsa and the pepper and cilantro really gives this depth. The mint was overpowered by the cilantro; I might skip that next time. Overall would recommend this!"
