Reviewed chef anne's all-purpose pasta dough

Nov 9, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

I have arthritis so it is very hard for me to knead properly. Let me share a tip I got from another website. Initially it sounds, well a bit disgusting, but it really works great! I put the dough in a ziplock bag and walk on it. Really! I walk it out to the edges of the bag and then open it and roll it back up and walk on it again. I do this about...

Reviewed sunday pot roast with mushroom gravy

Nov 2, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

This was so easy and is the best pot roast I have ever made. I think the secret is to cover the roast with all the mushroom mixture and that keeps it moist and tasty! I always put my carrots and potatoes in with the roast so I just removed them, let the roast rest and hit the sauce with my emersion blender.

These were ok. A bit chewy. I think they would be better by letting the dough rise twice like you would with traditional bread

Reviewed Fettucine Alfredo

Jan 12, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

I love Alfredo and have eaten a lot of it and I have to say this rates right up there with the best! Yes, it was a little thick so you can thin it with some pasta water if you desire. The flavor was great and I also recommend doubling the recipe. I have a family of 4 and by doubling it we had just enough left for 2 average sized lunches.

This dressing is awful. It is not even close to Olive Garden. I will not use it again.

Reviewed Thanksgiving Turkey Brine

Dec 1, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

I have been cooking holiday dinners for 32 years and can do a fine job at it if I do say so myself (along with family members of course). I can say without hesitation that this is the absolute BEST turkey I have ever done! I will never again cook a turkey that hasn't been brined! It is a very easy prep and really only takes a little pre-planning to...

Reviewed Texas Oven-Roasted Beef Brisket

Sep 30, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

My husband made this on his day off and it was GREAT! I am not a big salt eater but I have to disagree that it was too salty, although my family thought so - go figure. He did mistake cayenne pepper for chili powder so it had a bit of a kick to it but we like spicy. I would definitely make it again with half the chili powder with the rest being ca"

This was yummy. I used ground turkey because that's what I had on hand. Like the others I found the meat mixture to be a little wet but they turned out great. Made a double recipe of the sauce. Served on leaf lettuce (couldn't find Boston) on top of rice. Big hit! I will definitely make them again with ground pork! Plan on using this as potsticker"

This was GREAT! Even my husband who tends to shy away from new dishes loved it. Great way to use any kind of leftover meat. I had never used fish sauce and almost left it out. Glad I didn't. All the flavor blend for a taste bonanza! "

This was quick, easy and gooo-oood! I had some boneless pork loin that I used and couldn't find quality chorizo so used spicy smoked sausage. Smelled so good I forgot the chips and cheese but it was delicious anyway. "

Reviewed Bubble and Squeak with Corn Puree

Nov 23, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This sounded so interesting I went right into the kitchen and made a post Thanksgiving brunch. I used mashed potatoes, stuffing, chopped carrots and asaragus, creamed corn and of course turkey. Topped it with an over easy egg and my family LOVED it. Don't leave out dusting the patties with flour-the key to the golden crispiness. Very, very tasty a"

Nov 19, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These were SO good! I made 4 large red onions for my family of 5, probably could have gotten by with 3 but even my kids who don't like onions ate 'em up. I do disagree with the difficulty level. It really should be rated easy. It's a bit time consuming if you do a super large batch like I did but well worth it!"

Reviewed Buffalo Drumsticks

May 6, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

THESE WERE SO GOOD!!! I have never had a drumstick so tender and juicy. The only complaint was the skin didn't crisp up to my liking but next time I will drop them in some hot oil or hit the broiler for a few before removing from the oven. In spite of not being crispy we still ate the skin because of the fab flavor it had. "

MMmmmm good. I used toaster waffles because I was short on time and not a good multi tasker in the kitchen. Also, doubled the hot sauce and added cayenne to the flour and still had no heat. Slather the mayo on that's what makes the sammy. ""

Mar 25, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was EXCELLENT! Living in podunk Georgia the best I could find was ground lamb which gave off a little more fat but I just added extra flour to help tighten it up and it came out delicious! Even better the day after so if you have time make it in advance and let it marry overnight. ""

I couldn't get the mac & cheese to stay together so I dumped the egg, flour and some extra seasonings, four slices diced bacon and then formed balls to fry. It was passable but if I do it again I will be a little heavier handed with the spices. The pasta along with the "batter" tends to be a little too bland.""

Very flavorful. I couldn't get the sauce to thicken very well but it tasted good in spite of being a bit thin. Loved the pistachio coating but the amount of nuts I had to buy to make enough to serve 6 was a bit expensive for a coating. Think I'll try pecans or almonds next time.
