Reviewed focaccia

I too don't know how I failed to review this - I've made it dozens of times. My family loves it and when I make it for guests they always ask "did you make this yourself". Most don't know how easy it is. I sometimes at fresh thyme and/or rosemary to the dough. Finishing salt (and sometimes a little grated parm) on top is just the right thing....

This is not a spritz cookie. A spritz cookie';s primary flavor is butter. However, one could call it a press cookie or a Christmas cookie. Just not a spritz cookie."

Reviewed Roasted Root Vegetable Salad

Dec 9, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

I used kale (baby kale or regular cut in ribbons would work. I roasted red and yellow beets with garlic. Separately I roasted carrots...

I have made this several times - with fresh and canned pineapple - and it is always devoured by my family. Try it even if you don't have a cast iron skillet - I have used a large straight sided frying pan and it came out great. ""

Reviewed The Lady and Sons Peach Cobbler

Sep 6, 2011 in Holiday Cookie Contest on FoodNetwork.com

This is a terrific dessert - it tastes like mom/granma's. I think you could use at least a cup more peaches - maybe two cups more. I used fresh peaches and 3/4 cups brown sugar for the syrup. Also I did not add all of the syrup - I used about 3/4 of a cup on the top. I used a smaller glass baking dish - and baked it a little longer than indicat...

Reviewed Ginger Flank Steak with Wasabi Smashed Potatoes

May 30, 2011 in Holiday Cookie Contest on FoodNetwork.com

We loved the potatoes. I didn't have wasabi paste - I had to make a paste with wasabi powder and water; then let the paste sit for a while to develop before adding to the potatoes. It was fantastic. Instead of steak I used chicken thighs and instead of the steak seasoning I used the terikayi marinade. We grilled the chicken. A really tasty an"

Reviewed Rosemary Polenta

This polenta is sublime. Even if you are a little scared of 1 teaspoon of rosemary -- do it anyway. Just be sure to chop te rosemary very fine. My husband, who has not like rosemary in the past, loves this recipe. You can also decrease the butter a bit and the half and half - just make up for the liquid with the chicken stock. I serve this with...
