My Activity

Reviewed Spaghetti and Turkey Meatballs

"I love this recipe! I used a can of crushed tomatoes instead of crushing them by hand myself. With everything else, I followed the recipe pretty much exactly. I found that it took a bit longer for the sauce to thicken up and it did take more like 15 minutes to cook small meatballs (rather than 6). I used the cubed whole wheat bread and I thought it added a lot of texture to the meatballs - delish! Oh - I used a little bit of grated cheddar instead of parmesan in the meatballs because I didn't have any parm. Still turned out awesome. Next time I will use the parmesan though and the parmesan rind in the sauce - I have a feeling it will be even better! It's easy and definitely a good weeknight meal. For my family of three - it even leaves enough for left overs!

Reviewed Vegetable Gumbo

"This recipe is sooo good! It "tastes green" according to my three-year-old says, but it's really good if you like vegetables. My three-year-old did not like it, so he go boxed mac and cheese instead. Oh well. I still give this recipe five stars. Next time I think I might add some shredded chicken and shrimp. This was way easy to make and it's definitely going on my weeknight menu. One of these days I hope my little one will come around and enjoy this meal with us.

Reviewed Bourbon Peach Cobbler

"So easy and so delicious! I've done it with peaches - the best! I've also done it with golden delicious apples, which my family loved, but I prefer peach. The topping is super easy and I love that u don't have to roll a crust. I made this for Christmas eve dinner this year and I wanted to eat it fresh out of the oven, so I made it all ahead of time and brought it over to my mom's house to be cooked about 2 hours later. I was a little worried that it wouldnt turn out as well but it worked out great. Awesome recipe Tyler!

Reviewed No Pan Pear Pie

"Wow! This was amazing! One of the best pies I've ever made. The filling is to die for. I think Alton complicates things a bit, but I think that's part of his schtick. Like instead of doing the apple juice concentrate thing I just used ice cold apple juice. I didn't use a spray bottle for it either. And the crust came out great. I used Sara lee frozen pound cake and I mixed cinnamon and sugar to sprinkle on top. It was delicious with some vanilla bean ice cream for Christmas dessert. So awesome! The best thing I ate all day. Even better than my aunt's tamales - and that's saying something!
