Reviewed Slow-Cooker Bean and Barley Soup

Overall, this was just ok. The beans didn't get tender in time, but overall it had a nice flavor. I would definitely recommend soaking the beans ahead of time."

This is one of those instances where all the ingredients are wonderful, but somehow they come together terribly. For me, this dish was inedible, and my husband was able to eat most of one portion, but ended up feeling ill and we threw away all the rest. The sausage was mushy, the turkey was blah, and the olives and artichokes just couldn't salvage...

I was trying to think of what to make tonight and was thinking I could do a stir fry with the ingredients I had on hand, but in a serendipitous turn of events, this episode came on this afternoon! I didn't have any meat, substituted some of the veggies (I had carrots, broccoli, bell pepper, coleslaw mix, and baby corn), and used the high protein whole...

Very flavorful and quick to whip up if you do the prep work in advance. My only complaint is that I did have the tamarind paste, but it didn't really melt into the sauce, just kind of stayed in a blob. Not sure if I've just had the paste for too long, but next time I will probably try to dissolve it in some water first? And for those of you that can't...

Great recipe - very easy and my husband and dad devoured it! The meat was nice and tender and it made a ton of sauce! My only complaint is that the BBQ sauce was too mustardy for my taste (I pretty much despise mustard), so I may tool around with the sauce ingredients to make it my own. Other than that, it would have been 5 stars for me!

This was a yummy departure from normal mac & cheese, but when I'm craving it, I think I'll opt for a more traditional version (i.e. my grandma's baked version). No complaints about the recipe itself - loved the smokiness, just a traditionalist when it comes to this particular thing. But very good nonetheless!

This was so good! I'm going to add garlic next time and make my own version of garlic naan. Definitely didn't make 20 pieces though- more like eight for me too. But very yummy!!!
