"Well of course if you expect it to be like battered fish, it's not... but bland? Cooking is all about adding your own spin on a recipe. You can tell while you are preparing whether it will be bland. Like another reviewer I added a good amount of lemon pepper. Also I used frozen cod fillets. Imagination in the kitchen is so important to a good finished product.
