My Activity

Reviewed Cinnamon Rolls

"Sorry to say that the rolls turned out terrible. They were dense and tasted oily. I cut the recipe in half and measured exact. Rolls are supposed to raise high and be light and fluffy. But looking at Ree's picture of her rolls, hers didn't even raise above the rim of the pan??? I do love the show and will continue to watch.""

Reviewed New Orleans Bacon Pralines

"I watched the show just today and thought I would get the actual recipe on food network website. Half of the directions were not shown on the tv show! Claire said on the show to just forget about it in the pan once you stir the butter, brown sugar and cream together. Wrong! The website says to use a candy thermometer, sugar coat the nuts, etc.""

Reviewed Chicken Pot Pie

"This is a GREAT recipe!!!! I've made it 3 times now and it's one of my favorite meals to make. The creamy, very tasty filling is delicious and the crust is so flaky. It was a hit with my family. I've also changed the broth and meat to beef and made beef pot pies. My ramekins are 4" wide so I get 4 servings out of this recipe instead of 6 like it says. I will always make this recipe!

Reviewed Devil's Food Cake with Vanilla Buttercream Icing

"I've been searching for a good buttercream icing and when I found this one, was excited to make it because it's not the "normal" icing of butter, powdered sugar, vanilla and milk. However, after making it, I was disappointed. It's way too buttery and pretty much like spreading butter on a cupcake. It also needed to be more sweet. My stomach was slightly upset after eating one cupcake. I'll keep looking for a good buttercream icing.

Reviewed Birthday Sheet Cake

"I made this cake TWICE and was very disappointed both times. Made it exactly like it said and the cake sunk in the middle. The middle was too moist and dense while the outside edges were hard. The cake did have a very good flavor (I liked the lemon), but everything else about it was a flop. The icing was too runny also. I love chocolate icing but not with this cake. The flavors clashed. I ate a piece and the rest went in the trash.

Reviewed Turkey and Pancetta Pot Pies

"Very good recipe! The filling and crust were delicious! I made it exactly except for the pancetta. My family loved it and I definately will be making this regularly!

Reviewed Red Velvet Brains Cupcakes

"I love the show! I love trying different desserts so this show was right up my alley. The red velvet cupcakes looked so delicious when Anne made them but when I made them, they were terrible. They were so dense and hardly any flavor. Also they turned out pink....they just looked unappealing. I tasted one and threw the whole batch in the trash. To be honest, I don't think homemade cakes can hold a candle to box cake mixes. Now when it comes to frosting, it's homemade all the way. Hopefully, her other recipes will turn out when I make them at home.
