Made this last night. Very tasty and fall off the bone tender. I was shopping for the meat in the afternoon, but could only find frozen veal shanks, so I settled for fresh beef shanks instead (and only $3.99 per pound). Will be keeping this one in the rotation! Not sure why the websit lists this as "intermediate" as it was very easy to make."

I've never actually made a "real" lasagna. In the past, it has always been a lasagna-like healthy substitue. But last weekend, I was craving a real honest to goodness meat lasagna. This recipe was a HUGE hit. I used hot Italian sausage and loved how the spices in the sausage added soooooo much flavor to this meaty, cheesey pan of heaven."

Excellent. Also used left over turkey from Thanksgiving. Looked a bit dry, so I added some chicken stock and a jar of store bought turkey gravy. I also substituted peas for the peppers. Just can't imagine peppers in a pot pie. Next time, I plan to divide the mixture into individual pot pies for a special presentation.
