Use crushed tomatoes instead of whole. Made this last night and while very good, something was missing: BACON!!!!Roughly chop a pound of bacon and render it out until crisp. Like others have said, this is a good base recipe to follow but one should still add/subtract/adjust ingredients/seasonings to taste to create their "own" recipe.
