Reviewed Garlic Spaghetti

"I am a big fan and I made the recipe today. I loved the strong garlic taste, and we do eat garlic in most everything, but I did not use the entire 1/2 cup olive oil in the spaghetti. I drained off 1/2 the oil and only used 1/2 the amount of butter. I will use less of the oil in the spaghetti next time and try to cut down the butter also. I only had fire roasted tomatoes and they were great with it. I agree with the other poster than fresh or canned roma tomatoes might be better than regular canned. All in all I will make it again as it was like having your garlic bread in your spaghetti. I also think it would be good with green peas and a la spaghetti carbonara.

About Me

I love cooking.    Watching Aarti last year and her final win was glorious, and she has become my favourite chef.

I am puzzled by those who attack her (what's the matter with them?) and say she is not authentic, etc.  She is making Indian food which is perfect for those of us who want to make tasty food of a different flavour easily, plus her demonstrations are so easy to follow.  She's a winner in every category for me.

Although I am 65 I am inspired to cook by the younger newer chef/cooks on FoodNetwork and always by the great Semi-homemade Sandra.  As we age the less time we have to spend working in the kitchen the better we like it. I also like they are making the recipes more healthy without losing the deliciousness of the recipe.  Also the use of the unfamiliar gadgets by the chefs are making life easier once we purchase them.  I wish they would name all the appliances and gadgets they are using.

Favorite Foods

French fries, Southern fried chicken, all fried foods, angels on horseback/anything wrapped in bacon, love bacon wrapped quartered onions, pork chops/loin, seafood of any kind, pineapple upside down cake, and fudge, bark.

Famous for potato salad, macaroni salad, prime rib, fudge, Southern pound cake, pork chops, baked ham with mustard glaze with pineapple and maraschino cherries, pineapple upside down cake.

I love most BBQ's in North Carolina and Virginia. I don't have any favourite restaurant since retiring to this small, college town, which has mostly fast food. Even the "restaurants" are not all from scratch cooking. Oh what I'd give for a really good Oriental restaurant within 20 miles.
