My Activity

Reviewed Haroset

"I go to this recipe when I forget what's in it. I always leave out the cardamon and use less ginger than this recipe calls for. The longer this recipe marinates the better it is. I only use the Manichetivich (sp) wine, which doesn't disappoint. It tastes like what I remember as a child."

Reviewed Creamed Spinach

"I normally love all of Anne Burrell's recipes. This one is only OK...It lacks something. I followed the recipe and choose not to use cayanne and instead used Chipolte ground peppers. Gave this recipe a nice smoky taste, but there was something missing from the cream sauce. I used mostly one percent milk but decided to use some half & half to make"

Reviewed Crab Dip with Garlic Saltines and Roasted Cherry Tomatoes

"Saw this episode on TV today and watched most of it, but frankly I forgot how long to roast the tomatoes and saltines...There are no directions attached to this. So I made the Crab Dip and refrigerated it,but before I chilled it, I tasted it...I guess I used too much salt b/c it sure didn't need any. I also added (instead of Old Bay a Tex-Mex chipolte spice (just a little to give it a nice smoky taste...Yummy. But could someone give me the time for the tomatoes & saltines so I can serve this tonite."

Reviewed Chicken in Creamy Tomato Curry: Chicken Tikka Masala

"Saw this recipe on the TV today and decided to try it...WOW...I am not a fan of Indian food, especially curry but this is just wonderful.
It takes a little longer to make then they suggest but it's all easy, just a lot of steps. I didn't buy 8 Roma tomatoes I only bougtht 5 but that was plenty. I also used 2 jalapeno w/o the seeds because I don't like it too spicy...it had just a small amount of kick, nothing that couldn't be handled by someone who gets heartburn.
The chicken was marinaded for about 45 mins.on my counter while I made the other stuff. I put it on my BBQ grill, but if you do WARNING: make sure the pieces are big enough NOT to fall through the grill slats...I then put the chicken into the sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes, careful not to overcook the chicken.
I served it w/ rice and it was a real winner...I will make this again and I might actually use canned tomatoes instead of diced Roma...depends on the time of the year. Thanks."

Reviewed Perfect Roast Chicken

"Made the recipe last night, put the chicken on a rack in the roasting pan and placed the stuffer on top of the veggies. Followed the directions. Frankly, the chicken was in fact moist, but it took much longer than 1 1/2 hours to cook the bird and I didn't feel that the veggies outside of the bird added anything to the recipe. I would make the chicken again and follow the directions to include the garlic, lemon & thyme but don't think I will bother to add the veggies underneath the chicken. Whole chickens seem to come out crispy when cooked at a higher heat.
