I have never made a banana nut muffin or bread, but I had a bunch of over-ripe bananas to use-up. I found this recipe this morning, and I made it according to the recipe. It was very, very delicious. Very moist, perfectly sweet, crusty on the top, moist in the middle. Just perfect.

These cupcakes are DIVINE!! I made them exactly according to the recipe, and I experienced none of the problems reported by other users (oily, flat, too sweet, etc.). They are moist, appropriately sweet, and delicious. You really cannot get any better than a Paula Deen recipe for this type of classic dessert!

I made a few modifications: substituted steak sauce for tomato paste, substituted scallions for parsley, added garlic (in with sauteed mushrooms), and omitted lemon juice.
