Super moist and the pineapple is so flavorful. Made it the day prior to eating it and the leftover cake stayed moist for several days after. This cake could easily serve 10-12 versus 8 as listed.

I was hesitant to make this because the ingredients looked like they did not belong together. These sandwiches are absolutely amazing... the flavors blend together so well it is hard to even describe. The hardest thing for me was to find the right bread which is very important. The dense raisin nut bread is a must...do not compromise.

Made it and the kids thought it was too spicy so I will cut the hot sauce in half for them (and add my own to my sandwich). I added a bottle of our family favorite bbq sauce to give it a bit of smokey bbq flavor and that put it over the top. If you make this keep the basic recipe and add your own bbq sauce at the end...give it a try.

Awesome recipe. I doubled the recipe (because that is how she has it in her cookbook) and made it for a party and tailgating. Huge hit and I'm in favor of making it the day ahead and letting it sit overnight.
