There is something wrong with this recipe. It was terrible. I think the problem is the funugreek leaves should not be in the chana masala. I think it is funugreek seeds which is generally in chana masala. I will try again with funugreek seeds. I think it will be fine if the recipe is corrected.

Reviewed Steamed Carrot Cake with Honey Yogurt Frosting

Jun 1, 2011 in Recipes on Cooking Channel

This cake tastes great. I did change things a little bit. I blended the wet ingredients before I added the carrots. The cake was becoming too packed with wet ingredients initially. I prefer cakes that are smooth. I had a little bit of sweetness with agave nectar. I added one teaspoon of that. I used graham flour instead of all purpose flour"

Great taste. The turnip cake made here is much better than you will get a dim sum restaurant. I did not try the sauce yet. It is time consuming process but definitely worth it. You may have to exchange out the water so the steaming can happen constantly."

Great taste. I am Indian and like the baked version of this curried cauliflower. It is a pleasant change for the regular cauliflower curry that I eat. I had all the spices and used fresh orange peel since I did not have any dried peel. "

Reviewed Rustic Fall Vegetable Soup

May 11, 2011 in Recipes on Cooking Channel

This soup is very easy to make and really good flavor. It is also very light. It is a great way to use up all the leftover squash from our garden. The soup flavor had maybe a little too much tomato flavor. I think that is dependent on the can tomatoes that you are using. The fresh tomatoes would be a better addition than the canned."

The roti turned out very good. You can substitute Methi leaves instead of Spinach leaves. Just one issue with the recipe. 1 cup cooked dal may confuse the home cook. You should boil 1/3 cup of dal. 1/3 cup of dal will give you about 1 cup of cooked dal."

These cupcakes turned out great. They were really moist. The frosting was one of the best that I have ever tasted. The marscapone and the zest made an unforgettable flavor. I used the left over frosting like butter on waffles and pancakes."
